Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is an outstanding lot of WWI Australian field equipment. Some items are marked for Australia and others are not marked, but all came from a prestigious ANZAC collection.
The items include:
- Australian WWI Cavalry ammunition pouch, stamped 17177 which may identify it to William Valentine Dick, Regimental number 17177, who served with the 1st Australian Wireless Signal Squadron during WWI. Under the flap is stamped J.J. WEEKES / 1910 / SYDNEY. An Extraordinarily rare pouch in its own right.
- Original SMLE leather rifle sling, WOW! These are extremely difficult to source as most you will find are the later khaki version. The sling shows heavy wear and some minor stiffening, but the small leather rope is retained and this will look great on your SMLE rifle.
- P-1903 belt, stamped J.JACKSON / MELB. for a maker in Melbourne, Australia. Excellent but shows heavy wear.
- Australia-stamped canteen with original harness. Harness is stamped AUSTRALIA C.G.H.F. for the Commonwealth Government Harness Factory. Canteen retains cork with string. Excellent!
- Period jack knife with very heavy material loss to the grips. Blades and spike are rusty but still come out with force. Only marked SHEFFIELD on blade. Retains bale.
An extremely rare lot of Australian equipment, some very rare pieces here! Ready to display.
