  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely & scarce WWI ANZAC Cavalry belt set with correct fittings, including two 1916-dated ammunition pouches and a gorgeous dispatch case. The leather is all in great condition for its age.

The belt is in fair condition with some bending and leather crazing. Both of the ammunition pouches are stamped:

    HOLDEN & FROST
    1916

Holden & Frost was an Australian company that began as a saddlery business and eventually became a major car body manufacturer. The company was founded by James Alexander Holden in 1856 and was renamed Holden & Frost in 1885 after Henry Adolph Frost joined as a partner. They manufactured leather field gear such as this during WWI.

The dispatch case is still well-attached to the belt and is marked under the flap:

    PS 129
    2404089

We are unsure of the meaning of these markings. The case has some crazing as well but is in good working order.

This is an extraordinarily scarce ANZAC field gear set, ready for further research and display!
