  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very scarce sash order for the Officer's Star of Honor for the Suppression of the Northern Rebellion of Habibullah Kalakani in 1929. The medal was established by Mohammed Nadir Khan to be awarded to officers of the  Afghan National Army who were involved in the defeat of Habibullah Kalakani. Habibullah Kalakani briefly became King (Khan) of Afghanistan (Reign: 17 Jan. 1929 – 16 Oct. 1929) following the Rebellion and the Civil War that was triggered by the modernizing reforms of Amanullah Khan (1919-1929), who was forced to abdicate. After 9 months in power, Habibullah Kalakani was overthrown and executed by General Mohammed Nadir Shah, a cousin of the former King Amanullah Khan.

The order is in good condition with the heavy green sash folded up heavily and has heavy crease marks as a result. The bottom of the sash has a sawtooth cutting pattern. The medal planchet is in good shape and is likely Sterling. You only ever find this medal with just the planchet, never with the full sash.

A very rare sash order, ready for further research and display.
