Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Pepperbox revolvers were so named because of the similarity of the front view of the weapon was so reminiscent of a Pepper Pot of the time being a circle of round holes. This is a spectacular example of an underhammer percussion Pepper box revolver. It measures 6 1/2" in overall length with four clustered 2 1/2" barrels.
The removable barrels are made of top quality DAMASCUS Steel the pattern is beautifully displayed. The body of the revolver is fully engraved and the bag wood grips are made from EBONY. The under hammer RING trigger rotates the barrels to the next chamber in a double action motion.
This revolver very closely resembles the U.S. maker BLUNT & SYMS in style, but this revolver was actually made in Liège, Belgium to the highest of specifications.
The breach end of the barrels bear the E. / L.G. / (star) in an oval, the famous Liège proof mark.
Very up market, the barrel can be "turned of" with a key (not included) that fits into the end of the barrels, for swift loading. All four barrels are labeled, and remove easily.
A little gem from the best available in 1840, ready to display!
