Original 1960s Issue Great Seal of the United States Vehicle Identification Placard

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice vehicle identification fender placard or plate, used to identify vehicles when carrying high ranking U.S. government officials. Often many vehicles would carry a set of these plates, so that they would always have the correct plate for the occupants. The placard is made of a non ferrous metal, most likely aluminum, and the front is painted with the Great Seal of the United States in the center of a dark blue field. This most likely indicates that the Great Seal itself, usually in the possession of the U.S. Secretary of State, is on board the vehicle.
The plate measures approximately 9" x 6" and is offered in very good condition, with light wear from use and age. Ready to display!
