  • Museum Quality Replica Item: Only One Available. The AN-M57A1 was a World War Two era, United States Army and US Navy used, 250 lb general purpose aerial bomb. The AN-M57A1 was a slightly modified version of the AN-M57, differing in the base plug/plate construction, and the use of a different adapter-booster. The AN-M57A1 was commonly fitted with an M103 series nose impact fuze and an M101 series tail impact fuze, or their AN (Army-Navy) equivalents.

    Not Available for Export.

This reproduction of an AN-M57A1 250 pound bomb is a wonderful representation of the type used by the U.S. Army and Navy during the World War II and Korean War period. This example measures roughly 47” tall and the tail fin assembly measures 10 ⅝ x 10 ⅝. The bomb is actually very light (14lbs) and is easily maneuverable. It looks to be made from resin of some sort, with steel fins added on as well as an aluminum top piece.

The top of the bomb still has the fuze with the pin inserted and a “pin removal” tag added which gives it a great look. The side of the bomb has the replicated markings:

    G.P.
    250LB.
    AN-M57A1

    COMPOSITION B
    LOT 84215
    EXPLOSIVE
    U.S. BOMB
    P.A. 2-45
    WITH PADS

    3.8 CU. FT.
    259 LBS.

    COMP B

The tail fin assembly has the replicated markings:

    AN-M106A1
    LOT NO. AA-11
    250 LB. SIZE

A very attractive replica, ready to display.
