German WWII M35, M40, M42 Helmet Band (Utility Strap): Wehrmacht Green/Khaki

Item Description

Original Item: Best illustrated in the excellent book "Uniforms & Traditions of the German Army 1933-1945" by Angolia and Schlicht in Volume 3 Page 33 is the Utility Strap, sometimes referred to as "Bread Bag Strap? being used as a helmet band. Photograph shows a Machine crew of three WW2 German soldiers each with Helmet Bands in place (without the addition of foliage for camouflage). These straps were also used to suspend the Steel Helmet from Backpack or Waist Belt, but the most common use was to secure local foliage as easily adaptable camouflage.

Here we offer original WW2 heavy canvas & leather utility straps, bearing small NSDAP stamp on leather and/or print markings together with simple installment instructions for attachment to standard M35, M40, M42 steel helmets.STRAP ONLY, HELMET NOT INCLUDED.

Please choose "Special Select" for inked WW2 Markings (very few available) and write "INK MARKINGS" in the comment field at order checkout. Image of ink stamp below:
