New Made Reproduction Items. Very Few Available. These are high-quality European-made reproductions of the brown leather chinstrap used on Imperial German M16 Stahlhelm helmets and the later M16 shells fitted with the 1917-pattern steel liner band, commonly called the M17 by collectors. The strap retains the traditional M1891-style end fittings carried over from the Pickelhaube system, but the overall length of these reproductions makes them particularly well suited to the WWI Stahlhelm.
Each strap is constructed from brown leather with steel fittings and measures approximately 23 inches overall, including the end loops, when the adjustment buckles are positioned near the ends. The buckles allow the strap to be shortened considerably for a tighter fit.
These straps are ideal for reenactor helmets, restoration projects, reproduction displays, or incomplete original helmets where an original WWI chinstrap is missing.
