Item Description
Original Item: One Only. Recently purchased from a Veteran's Collection; this gear just isn't found anywhere any more. Very high quality brown leather set of Saddle Bags for use with Horses in WWI and then with Motorcycles in WW2. Shown in detail in the printed ?Men-at-Arms Series # 234- German Combat Equipments 1939-45". Illustration page "E? following script page 24, item #5. Complete with straps and in very superior condition, this rig bears various marking, numbers etc but of course most importantly a Waffen amt, code and date of 1940. However, of most interest; upon closer examination located on reverse side from the Waffen amt marking, code and 1940 date there appears to be a very faint WW1 Makers stamp, looks like Berlin 1918(?) That being the case, this set must be a very rare WWI Cavalry Set refurbished and reissued in WW2 most probably for Motorcycle use.
