  • Original Item: One Only.  A magnificent almost untouched example of this rare French Heavy Cavalry Sword. This is the curved bladed heavy Cavalry model with a 4 branch brass hand guard. The Curassier, who were regarded as the heaviest of the Cavalry Regiments, carried straight bladed four-branch brass guarded Swords.  Marked on the back of the blade "Manuf ' R'al De Chatellerault, janvier 1833" pristine condition blade with perfect full leather grip cover and full brass wire binding. Matured Brass mounts with armorer's stamps in perfect condition. All in original all steel scabbard with two hanging rings as was correct for that period. French Heavy Cavalry Sword of the Second Empire Period of Napoleon the Third.
