This is the French Model 1801/1822 French Light Cavalry Sabre that was the forerunner of the U.S. M-1860 Cavalry Sabre used so widely during the American Civil War. Curved 36" full-tempered blade with French arsenal inscription and 1811 date on the back edge. Three bar brass guard enclosing brass wire bound leather grip, complete with all steel scabbard. New.
