This original brass helmet is the Official French Brass Fire Helmet designed in the style of the legendary "Adrian helmet" pattern that was eventually replaced at the end of WW2.Complete with Brass Helmet plate of Castle over flaming bomb in shield surrounded by oak leaf branches beneath a scroll banner "SAPEUR POMPIERS D'OUTRE BOIS"
Helmet has correct Adrian style crest on top again with flaming bomb motif to front.
The liner is a quality brown leather finger style with adjustment thong in crown. The liner probably was replaced during the helmet's working life. Complete with adjustable quality leather chinstrap. A Classic Fire Helmet from the Victorian era and up through World War One.
Some slight age cracking to brass commensurate with age, and certainly ready to display.
