  • Original Item: One Only. Captain A Carr of the Royal Marines Regiment, totally un-researched lived in Portsmouth, England. So states his metal transit trunk which today only contains his Officer's Dress Uniform and silk waist sash. This traditional and magnificent Royal Marine tunic of deep dark blue, almost black, with gilt embroidered collar, cuffs and epaulettes comes complete with it's original padded lining, medal ribbons and gilt Royal Marine buttons displaying Kings Crown dating the tunic to 1902-1952.

Along with the Tunic is it's original "silk" moir? waist sash lined in red Morocco leather and marked up to the Maker: "Hobson & Sons Ltd., Gold Lacemen and Embroiderers, 55 Greek Street, LONDON" and the maroon colored sash terminates in two substantial tassels. The Tunic has slight moth to the inside of one sleeve but is a most attractive display item.

The large Transit tin, apart from being named with owners details, rank and address, bears the Royal Marine insignia and colors on both the outside and inside lid of the chest; a relatively common practice usually done by the Regimental artist. This set dates to the WW2 period but, as stated, no research whatsoever has been undertaken.
