Original Item: Just imported from England, these are British Made1870s dated, Crown over V.R. stamped, smooth bore Snider Two Band Short guns used primarily in the Military Prison Service. Locks are all be marked with Broad Arrow and various British manufacture names such as LSA (London Small Arms Co.) & BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Co.) Each short Snider even comes complete with, Brass butt plate, trigger guard and Nose Cap with two barrel bands and a 25" barrel. The barrel is smooth bored, which was a requirement for Prison Service, and also if issued to Sepoy units after the Indian Mutiny of 1857/8. The back sight is therefore an open sight, denoting the fact that the weapon was intended for buckshot in order to cut down multiple men in one go. These are a scarce and very well marked British Military Issue weapons Made in England, not India, and recovered from Nepal in 2003. Fewer than half a dozen available.

1) We are aware that the example photographed is missing a sling swivel. A trigger guard sling swivel will be included.
2) These are cleaned but not fully stripped and restored. We purposely clean them to this level in order for you to finish off. If you've seen our untouched guns you will see how much has already been done in comparison.
