British P-1841 Sappers & Miner Bayonet with Scabbard: One Only
Original Item: One Only! Classic Sword/Socket Bayonet. Absolutely ORIGINAL this is the P-1841 Sappers and Miner's Bayonet for use with the short Percussion (or Flintlock converted) Musket issued to Specialized troops. Fitted with a 22" Sword blade but used additionally as a socket bayonet. Blade marked "S-HILL" the British Government contractor who manufactured the weapon. Blade marked with faint acceptance marks shows some pitting but not much wear for age. Complete with partial ORIGINAL Scabbard. Leather body with Brass Frog Stud, both brass top and bottom mounts absent. Note; old plaited leather repair to lower portion of scabbard after bottom mount was lost. This is one of the most impressive and important bayonets of the British Victorian era.
