Original German WWII Framed Period Portrait Print of Luftwaffe Generalfeldmarschall Hugo Sperrle - 12 1/2" x 16"

Item Description

Original Item: One-Of-A-Kind. During the reign of the NSDAP in Germany, it was very common for books containing prints of portrait photographs of high ranking political and military officials to be sold, along with copies of their signature. This way Germans could collect them, sometimes cutting them out and hanging them in their homes and businesses. The most often seen would be leaders such as A H and Reichsmarshall Hermann Göring, however there were many other high ranking officials of note during the NSDAP period.

This is a very nice print of a 1940 portrait photograph of Luftwaffe Generalfeldmarschall Hugo Sperrle, with his printed signature underneath. It has been matted and framed in a lovely wooden glazed frame, which measures 12 1/2" x 16", and has a lovely hanger on the back. The print shows some signs of creases and crumpling, so it looks to have been taken from an original German NSDAP era book, and is not a modern facsimile. While there are other officers that might have a bit more notoriety than Sperrle, the monocle, and frown really give him an iconic "German" look.

A very nice framed print, ready to display!
