Original U.S. WWI Named 92nd Aero Squadron (Air Service) Document Grouping With British Royal Flying Corps Uniform Patch Rocker From The 33rd Squadron - Private James Woska, Worked With RFC

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful document grouping for Private James Woska of the 92nd Aero Squadron (867th Attack Squadron today), We were unable to locate service information for Woska but his documents give us a little insight. The large paper item is a “Welcome Home” type of certificate from the Mayor of Yonkers which has Woska’s name as well as his unit, the 92nd Aero Squadron. The Royal Flying Corps rocker patch has its origins somewhat explained in a letter to the Headquarters of the 33rd Squadron, Royal Air Force. The letter was written by a Lieutenant of the 1st Royal King’s Own Hussars “and Royal Air Force”. The letter “certifies” that Private Woska worked with the Lieutenant as an Assistant Armorer for 6 months, placing him in the RFC as well as the RAF. While we are uncertain if he served with this Squadron, we are fairly confident that he was apart of the squadron.

All items are in fantastic condition but as with most 100 plus year old paper documents, there is wrinkling, tearing and stains present. The items could be brought back to life if placed in a frame with a mat border.

A lovely lot ready for further research and display.
