Original U.S. WWII Propaganda Poster - 1778-1943 Americans Fight For Freedom

Item Description

Original Item - Only One Available. During World War II, the U.S. Government designed hundreds of propaganda posters in order to sway public and soldier opinion towards fighting in the war. This poster is a fantastic example of just that - calling back to the fight for liberty during the Revolutionary War to inspire civilian and soldier alike to do their part to support the war effort and “fight for liberty”.

The poster features three American soldiers marching in uniform past a group of colonial militiamen from the Revolutionary War, brandishing flintlock muskets, some in torn clothing or bloody bandages. The caption reads “1778 - 1943 Americans will always fight for liberty.”

The poster is dated along the bottom “US Government Printing Office 1943. The poster measures 28x22” and has been folded with one crease down the middle and three creases across. The creases, while damaging, do add to the character of the poster.
