Original U.S. Civil War Era Austrian Lorenz Percussion Musket Converted for Civilian Use

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This just came out of the attic after a hundred years of storage, together with a couple of hundred other guns. It is an original Austrian Lorenz Style military rifle/musket, imported in the 1860's for the upcoming Civil War, probably by the Confederate States.

After the war the gun was modified to half stock for use as a civilian fowling piece possibly on the Frontier. Old rust staining overall, small piece of wood missing near the top left of the lock. There are some marking son the barrel knoxform, but we cannot decipher them, and the lock has the smallest traces of the original markings. It is marked with number 37 on several components, and still has Austrian regimental markings on the butt plate tang. It is still equipped with the original iron ramrod, and the lock functions correctly.

Out of long term storage, ready to restore or display as is!
