Original Set of Two British WWI Era Aviator Sunglass Goggles in Different Styles - One with Case

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set of Two Available. Here are two very interesting pairs of early Sun Glass type Aviator Goggles dating to WW1 or just after. Both have roughly circular lenses in the early Aviation style.

The first pair has leather side protectors and completely circular lenses, with a reinforced nose section. They contained in what can best be described as a leatherette soft case, bearing the faded name of the STEWART-DICK OPTICIANS in WATFORD just North of London. We feel that the case may be a later replacement, as it definitely looks to be quite a bit younger than the glasses.

The second pair are similar with slightly oval dark lenses but different in that the Side protectors are hinged steel mesh that have velvet type edging to provide comfort for the wearer. The central nose piece is not reinforced, and overall they are not built as sturdily as the first pair.

Both having typical sprung wire "temples" that are very curved to hold securely behind the ears. Both pairs offered together as a set.
