Original Item: Only One Available. The Panzerfaust 60 gross ("large") or Faustpatrone (Translated literally to mean: Tank Fist Large) was the third version of the Panzerfaust. This was the most common version, with production starting in September 1944. It had a much more practical range of 60 m (66 yd), although with a muzzle velocity of only 45 m (148 ft) per second it would take 1.3 seconds for the warhead to reach a tank at that range. To achieve the higher velocity, the tube diameter was increased to 5 cm (2.0 in) and 134 g (4.7 oz) of propellant used. It also had an improved flip-up rear sight and trigger mechanism. The weapon now weighed 6.1 kg (13 lb). It could defeat 200 mm (7.9 in) of armor.
This ingenious throw away Rocket and Launcher was one of AH's last ditch weapons adopted by the NSDAPs to try and repel the invading Allies on both the Eastern and Western fronts.
This example has been demilitarized according to specifications by the BATF. It still retains much of the original dunkelgelb (dark yellow) paint overall, with some lighter areas on the warhead where the original instruction label / decal was present. It also still has faded red stenciled markings visible in many areas, which is missing where the paint is chipped away, confirming authenticity. The warhead can be easily removed from the base of the rocket, which actually can still be removed, and still retains three of four fins! These are almost always completely missing the fins, or the entire wooden tail assembly, so this is a real treat! Original leaf sight and trigger assembly also still present and in rather solid condition, though the range marking decal is missing.
Also please note the "charge retention screw" on the bottom of the launcher, which is even with the end of the trigger, indicating that this is a 60 m panzerfaust. The 100 m had this screw about 7 inches below the trigger.
