Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic totally inert, wood construction, drill round for the USN 3 in./50 calibers QF gun that weighs 22.5lbs, and measures 31 1/4” in length.
The round is in very good condition and is weighted to match a live shell for accurate training handling purposes. The base plate is steel and has been painted gray, with 47585-2 marked on the bottom, which looks to be zinc plated. There is some wear and oxidation around the edges. The wood condition is very good, with a lovely color, and no cracking or major damage. This example features a solid steel warhead, with no fuse, and shows light overall oxidation. The fitting below it has been painted gray to match the base.
This is a great piece of World War II artillery and naval memorabilia which will make a very impressive display!
