  • Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a lovely lot of five recognition posters used by the U.S. Army to help soldiers identify enemy aircraft based on silhouettes and different angles. Posters such as these also would have been posted up in public places on the homefront and around military installations to familiarize friendly from foe. All are in very good condition and would look great framed.


    The first depicts the British Vought Sikorsky “Kingfisher” Observation Scout plane used by both the US and the UK.


    The second depicts the British Short “Sunderland” Patrol Bomber, used by the UK.


    The third depicts the British Bristol “Blenheim” medium bomber, used by the UK.


    The fourth depicts the American Stinson “Sentinel” Liaison aircraft, used by the US.


    The fifth and final poster depicts the Japanese Mitsubishi MC 20 Transport aircraft, MacArthur name “Topsy”.


    All five posters measure 18½ x 24¾” and would look best framed. A lovely set of posters, ready for framing and display.
