Original Item. Only One Available. This is an excellent WWII U.S. pistol belt rig assembled with a 1942 dated Sears leather holster for the M1911 pistol, an M1936 pistol belt, a 1942 dated double magazine pouch, and a 1943 dated first aid pouch containing a Carlisle bandage by Handy Pad Supply Co. The combination is representative of the type of sidearm equipment commonly associated with officers and NCOs who were issued the M1911 or M1911A1 pistol, and the clearly dated wartime components give the rig excellent display appeal.
The set consists of the following:
- Original WWII issue M1911 leather holster. It is marked SEARS 1942 on the back, and embossed U S in an oval on the flap, indicating that this was a military issue holster.- Original WWII issue M1936 pistol belt: Not marked that we can find.
- Original WWII issue M1911 double magazine web pouch: Marked B.D. INC. 1942.
- Original WWII issue first aid pouch marked WLMC INC. 1943.
- Original WWII Carlisle bandage in excellent unissued condition by Handy Pad Supply Co.
The strongest appeal of this rig is its completeness and the concentration of clearly marked wartime equipment. The SEARS 1942 holster, B.D. INC. 1942 magazine pouch, WLMC INC. 1943 first aid pouch, M1936 pistol belt, and excellent Handy Pad Supply Co. Carlisle bandage together create a particularly attractive representation of U.S. WWII sidearm equipment. It would display exceptionally well with an M1911 or M1911A1 pistol or within a collection devoted to American officers, NCO equipment, WWII web gear, or U.S. Army individual field equipment.
