  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent original U.S. WWII M7A3 2.36 inch Anti-Tank Practice Rocket, dated 3-44 for March 1944 and intended for training with the wartime Bazooka rocket launcher system. The M7A3 was the practice counterpart to the improved M6A3 HEAT rocket and incorporated the same characteristic rounded nose and circular, wheel shaped fin assembly. This example retains substantial original finish, including the correct blue painted practice warhead together with original paint on the stabilizer tube and tail assembly.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

The inert rocket measures approximately 19” inches long and retains the original paint on the shaft and tail assembly, but the warhead is still in its correct blue with some oxidation peeking through from denting. The fin assembly no longer unscrews but the warhead does. The fin assembly is marked SIMCO and still unscrews. The rocket is stamped with a sequence of lot numbers on all components, with the body being designated a ROCKET, PRAC., A.T. M7A3 and dated 3-44 for March 1944.

The M7A3 was associated particularly with the improved M1A1 and M9 series 2.36 inch rocket launchers. Its combat counterpart, the M6A3, represented an important wartime improvement over the earlier pointed nose M6 and M6A1 rockets, and the M7A3 allowed troops to train with a round having closely comparable handling and ballistic characteristics without the high explosive anti-tank charge.

The March 1944 date is a particularly desirable feature. It places this example squarely within the period when the Bazooka was in widespread U.S. combat service and improved M6A3 and M7A3 ammunition was being issued for operational use and training. Original WWII dated practice rockets survive in much smaller numbers than the launchers themselves, particularly when they retain recognizable paint and legible model and date markings.

With its ROCKET, PRAC., A.T. M7A3 designation, 3-44 date, correct blue practice warhead, original painted stabilizer and tail assembly, SIMCO marking, and approximately 19” overall length, this is a particularly strong example of U.S. WWII anti-tank training ordnance. The dents, localized oxidation, and general finish wear remain visible as expected, but the surviving wartime markings and original paint give the piece considerable historical and display value alongside an M1A1 or M9 Bazooka, U.S. infantry equipment, or a broader collection of WWII American inert ordnance.
