Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent original U.S. WWII canvas carrying case for the M1 .30 caliber Carbine, manufactured by Shane Mfg. Co. and dated 1944. Officially identified as the Case, Carrying, Carbine, Cal. .30, M1, this padded canvas case was designed to protect and transport the carbine when it was not being carried in immediate combat use. The dark olive drab canvas, intact shoulder strap, surviving zipper, and clearly legible wartime maker marking make this a particularly attractive late war example.

This example is marked under the top flap: SHANE MFG. CO. / 1944, and is made of OD Green #7 Canvas, which has just a bit of storage wear as well as service wear with a few popped stitches. This is a darker, more "green" type of OD green, as typical of later war produced items. The case is overall very good, with an intact shoulder strap, mostly working zipper, and no rips or tears in the fabric. Definitely excellent condition for any age.

The 1944 date places this example within the period of maximum wartime M1 Carbine use and corresponds with the darker olive drab equipment colors increasingly encountered in later production. Shane Mfg. Co. is one of the recognized wartime contractors for this pattern.

With its clear SHANE MFG. CO. / 1944 marking, dark OD canvas, intact shoulder strap, largely functional zipper, and absence of major tears or fabric loss, this is a particularly strong example of an original WWII M1 Carbine carrying case.
