Original Item: Only One Available. This patch was first worn by the United States Airborne Glider School then worn later by the 79th Troop Carrier Squadron of the IX Troop Carrier Command. The 79th was a unit that carried the glider troops into Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
The patch is in great shape overall with good embroidery and little material loss. The color is still strong and there is an old collector’s note on the back attempting to discern what unit it is for.
The patch measures 5 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" high. Offered in great overall condition, ready to display.
