Original Item: Only One Available. Genuine WWII US Coast Guard life boat and life raft rations which contains 7 Oz. pemmican, malted milk, biscuit and chocolate. Top of can is dated 1945. Can is unopened and still full with all contents. Can measures 8.5" H x 4" W x 3" D. There are some dents in the can.
A “lifeboat and liferaft ration” was procured as early as 1942 for use by the Coast Guard and the merchant marines. Components included C biscuits, pemmican, chocolate tablets, and milk tablets. Packaging was in airtight containers. Components were purchased by the Chicago quartermaster Depot for shipment to depots or ports where the complete ration was assembled under the supervision of the Bureau of Marine Inspection and Navigation.
Idiot Clause - the contents of this kit are pre-1945 manufacture and are NOT suitable for consumption. They are being sold as novelty collector pieces only. Even though some people on youtube have tried. Yuk!
