Original Item: Only one available. This is a good service-used condition M1 Garand rigid leather scabbard by Boyt Harness Company. The scabbard is clearly marked with a nice deep and crisp “US”, “BOYT” and “42” (1942) stamp. This example is in fair condition, with the leather being supple with some stiffness, and retaining much of its original rich russet color. The stitching is complete, all rivets present, leather final cap intact, and roughly 90% of the original black paint on the cocking lever guard is intact. The leather securing straps are intact, but the leather is cracking and crazing, so we would not recommend using this. Measures approximately 30 inches in overall length.
These scabbards were used to attach to Jeeps, motorcycles, horses and other transportation equipment. This kept the rifle at the ready, while also keeping it well secured and protected. This fine example is marked:
