Original Item. Only One Available. This is an original Long Range Patrol Ration for use by US Army Rangers LRRP's (pronounced LURPs) and Special Forces during and after the Vietnam War. This example is Chili Con Carne, Menu Number 2. The entire package is still sealed.

There were eight LRRP ration menus: Beef Stew, Chicken Stew, Beef w/rice, Chicken and rice, Spaghetti w/meat sauce, Chili Con Carne, Beef Hash and Pork w/escalloped potatoes.

This is a great example, ready for further research and display.

LRRP's (Long Range Recon Patrols) in Vietnam went to the field for many days without resupply, so weight was a big factor. This ration was designed to be light weight and provide enough food for one day in the field. It was reconstituted with water (cold or hot) and was a very filling meal. On a seven day patrol, each solder would carry 7-8 of these rations.  There were eight different menus and some were really tasty, especially with hot sauce.
