Original Item. Only One Available. The 1967 design 2-quart canteen was originally issued with an unlined rubberized cover that had a plastic latch fastener closure and a pocket for water purification tablets. It could be attached to the pistol belt via two slide keepers on the back or carried by its detachable shoulder strap.

Wartime examples of this model are very difficult to find, and this set is excellent. The bag retains its fur lining and the filling instruction label. The carrying strap is well-retained and without fraying. The small pocket for the water purification tablets still contains a 1950’s dated bottle which is still full! Outstanding in every regard.
