Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very scarce example of a U.S. Regular Army enlistment poster designed and printed in April 1941, 8 months before the United States would enter the Second World War. It depicts an American soldier with an M1 Garand slung around his back, wearing a Kelly Helmet and marching forward. This example has very heavy tearing as shown.
The poster measures roughly 25 x 38” and is in rough condition with some issues. The poster was designed by Tom Woodburn and was printed April 15th, 1941 according to the information along the bottom. There is a large tear on the right of the poster as shown, and there’s also heavy creasing in spots across the poster. There is some staining, but it thankfully still retains much of its color. This example would look best in a frame.
This is an extremely scarce poster, only the third we have offered. The tear and damage could make for a very macabre display, representing what became of the “Soldiers’ Life” over the next 4 years. Comes ready to be framed and displayed!
