  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a stellar embossed copper powder flask manufactured by the American Flask & Cap Company, which was a short-lived manufacturing company that only produced flasks from 1857 until its dissolution in 1865, meaning that this is absolutely a Civil War flask. This example features a hunting scene of a Buck leaping over a fence while a doe lies dead on the ground next to it. This depiction is on both sides of the flask. One of the suspension rings is retained, but the other is gone.

The flask is marked on the cap AM. FLASK & CAP CO.. The pouring cap has the desired powder amounts stamped on to allow for proper pour rates. The cap screws on and off perfectly with no issue. The spring is still intact, so this is a great functional example. There is minor splitting along the seam, but nothing too bad. There is no powder remaining in the flask. This example dates to the Civil War period, but was likely meant as a hunting flask given the depiction. A very beautiful flask that will fit well into any Civil War or 19th Century firearm collection! The flask measures roughly 8 3/4” in length.
