  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely Soviet Russian Wheeled Sokolov mount for use with M-1910 Maxim machine gun. Many of these came out of Finland in the past, however we did not see any Finnish markings on this example, though it is always possible that it was not marked by the Finnish Army, or that it actually is one of the few we have seen that came from another source. As an additional rarity, it looks to have an original armor shield with it, something we rarely see. Russian / Soviet maxim guns we have had in the past almost invariably have reproduction shields, which we used to sell in some quantities.

The mount looks to be fully functional, with both rough and fine elevation controls fully functional. Traverse adjustment is controlled by a tightening nut on the back of the mount. The angle adjustment that slides the top housing on the side rails retracts correctly, but it is a bit difficult to move back and forth. The front trunion pin is included, and is the correct type for the armor shield. The rear pin on the PM1910 is attached directly to the gun, so they are not present on the mounts. The piano-shaped box for the spare lock is unfortunately missing, but otherwise this is a fantastic set.

Very heavy, an amazing addition to any Russian Maxim Display.

The PM M1910 (Russian: Пулемёт Максима образца 1910 года, Pulemyot Maxima obraztsa 1910 goda or "Maxim's machine gun model 1910") was a heavy machine gun used by the Imperial Russian Army during World War I and the Red Army during Russian Civil War and World War II.

It was adopted in 1910 and was derived from Hiram Maxim's Maxim gun, chambered for the standard Russian 7.62×54mmR rifle cartridge. The M1910 was mounted on a wheeled mount with a gun shield and was replaced in Soviet service by the SG-43 Goryunov which retained the wheeled and shielded carriage, starting in 1943. In addition to the main infantry version, there were aircraft mounted and naval variants.
