Original Item. Only One Available. This is a heavily mothed black Airborne Beret as used by the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. It has a very nice cap badge for the what we believe to denote the South Vietnamese Intelligence service. With a torch surrounded by laurels and a scroll and helmet reading “Xung Phong Guong Mau Nhan Nai LHHSQ H.S.Q.”. The hat shows considerable wear from very heavy recent moth damage, with signs of being worn in a hot, humid environment. This example is also size marked inside the plastic diamond, 53.
The exterior wool shows very heavy moth damage with lots of material loss and staining. South Vietnamese items from the Vietnam War are incredibly hard to come by, especially from elite units like the Intelligence service. This is a very mothy but solid example, perfect for the Vietnam collector!
