  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a signed print of “Wild Children” by Heinz Krebs, signed at the bottom by the crew of the B-17F “Wild Children”, 12 men total. The frame is well-put together and the print is very clear. This is a limited run print, number 93 out of 1250. The frame comes with the original matching Certificate of Authenticity.

This is a dramatic aviation art print by Heinz Krebs of B-17F "Wild Children", a 390th BG aircraft returning to base at Framlingham, England after her crew has completed their tour of combat following another dangerous mission deep into the heart of Germany. Having survived this trip in one piece and with no casualties, her crew is looking forward to one last landing before being shipped back to the United States. Their odds of surviving these gruelling combat tours were meager, to say the least. They were lucky and they knew it. Overwhelmed with the feeling of elation the skipper takes the Fort within feet of the deck, past Framlingham castle, their visual checkpoint for the final approach into the airfield during so many return flights.

The print is signed by the following men:

Major General JOHN S. WARNER (Pilot)
    Colonel ROGER STERR (Co-Pilot)
    Captain JIM KEELAN (Navigator)
    Lieutenant Colonel ORRIE THOMPSON (Bombardier)
Technical Sergeant ANDREW ANZANOS (Engineer/Top Gunner)
Technical Sergeant DICK SAWYER (LT Waist Gunner)
Technical Sergeant JIM LIGHTFOOT (Tail Gunner)
Technical Sergeant BILL FROSTICK (Engineer/Waist Gunner)
Master Sergeant WILBUR HILL (Flight Chief)
Staff Sergeant OTTO VENT (Radio Operator)
Lieutenant Colonel PAUL KOVITZ (Squadron Engineering Officer)
Staff Sergeant WALTER BYRNE (Ball Turret Gunner)

This is an outstanding piece, ready to hang and display.
