The TM-35 was a rectangular, metal-cased Soviet anti-tank mine used during the Second World War. The mine has a metal case, which is rectangular with a carrying handle on one side and a large raised pressure plate in the center. Sufficient pressure on the central pressure plate presses down on one end of an internal see-saw like lever, which removes the retaining pin from an MUV fuse, releasing the striker, triggering the mine.
The mine's main charge consisted of 200 gram blocks of TNT packed into the metal case. The mine could be fitted with a number of improvised anti-handling devices utilizing the MUV pull fuse.
This example is quite rough with the top piece heavily dented and no longer centered. The mine is in overall fair but relic condition with none of the original paint retained. There is heavy oxidation across the mine, and the small hinged door at the front is heavily oxidized and does not move, now being stuck open. The top of the mine has some embossed markings including a 40 for a manufacture date of 1940.
It still retains components of the original fuze trigger housing, which are often removed. The mine measures 8.75" x 8.75" x 3.5", and would be a welcome addition to any WWII ordnance collection!
