Original Rare German WWII Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger Paratrooper Set of Two Tan Knee Pads

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set of Two Available. Now this is something we have only seen a few of before! This is a great pair of knee pads, which were required equipment for German Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger Paratroopers during WWII. Due to the design of the German parachutes, troops had to land on their knees and hands, thus requiring extra protection to prevent injuries. The knee pads were secured over the uniform using two adjustable elastic cross straps, which attach around the back.

This set is in very good lightly used condition, and are a nice tan color with tan elastic straps on the back, which are fitted with black hardware. The color is very close to the "dunkelgelb" tan used during the North Africa campaign, so it is very possible that these were intended for use in that theater or the Italian theater during WWII.

There are no maker or size markings, but each measures about 10"W by 7"H, though they are hard to measure as they are very "cupped" in design. They show a bit of light staining, and there is some oxidation on the hardware, but for being close to 80 years in age, they look great! The elastic is even still stretchy!

A nice pair of hard to find Fallschirmjäger knee pads, ready to display!
