Original Item: The mainspring is the large V-shaped spring that attaches to the tumbler and drives the hammer. Designed for the pattern 1864 Snider type rifle these mainsprings are handmade and will almost certainly require fitting. Style and manufacture style can vary significantly. Two examples are pictured to show variety.
Note: The P-1853 Enfield and P-1864 Snider mainsprings are identical items. We have listed them this way to make them easier to find.
