Original Imperial German WWI MG 08/15 Muzzle Booster with Great Markings - Rare

Original Item. Only One Available. The Maschinengewehr 08, or MG 08, was the German Army's standard machine gun in World War I and is an adaption of Hiram S. Maxim's original 1884 Maxim gun. It was produced in a number of variants during the war. The MG 08 served during World War II as a heavy machine gun in many German infantry divisions, although by the end of the war it had mostly been relegated to second-rate fortress units.
This is an excellent MG 08/15 accessory, a very difficult one to find on its own and non-ground dug. This muzzle booster would help the gun cycle so if you incurred a weaker round the gun would continue cycling instead of stopping. It increases the velocity at which the barrel moves to the rear, compared to its unboosted velocity. As the barrel and the bolt mechanism move rearward, they compress the recoil spring, which then forces the reciprocating elements forward at the end of the recoil stroke, permitting the next cartridge to be fired.
This example is in outstanding condition and is not ground dug like most examples you find on the market. The booster is stamped in three different places with the M.G. 08/15 designation next to an inspection stamp and BWB in a circle, denoting inspection by the Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung, the German Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement.
The threading is mostly complete with just a few small nicks, and will fit great onto your MG 08/15!
