Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of an Imperial German NCO Visor Cap (Schirmmütze), in black with red piping. The cap is constructed of black wool, and has Ponceaurot (poppy red) piping, and a Schwarz (black) velvet cap band. The front of the cap has a Prussian cockade with a Landwehr cross inside, denoting issue to the Reserve (Landwehr). The front of the cap has a nice visor, which looks to be made of vulcanfibre, but it is partially detached at one end.
The interior is lined with tan cotton material, and retains a large maker’s marking:
Pelzwaren, Hüte, & Mützen

Hof-Kurschner
CASSEL
Oberste- & Ziegengassen-Ecke
The faux leather sweatband is intact with good stitching retention, though there is heavy cracking and some tearing on one side. The size is roughly 6 ⅞.
A great attractive Prussian Landwehr visor, ready for display!
