Original Item. Only One Available. The German Tellermine 42 (T.Mi.42) is a High-Explosive-Blast (HE-Blast), circular, sheet-metal-bodied, Anti-Vehicle (AV) landmine that is designed to damage or destroy a vehicle by its HE-Blast effect. The landmine body has a smooth upper surface with a circular corrugated pressure-plate and a knurled fuze-cavity-cap centred on the top. Like all deactivated ordnance, this mine is Not Available for Export.
This is a very interesting restored example of the rare German T.Mi.42 Tellermine. The mine is missing the bottom entirely, and has been repainted with replicated markings, though there still appears to be an original maker mark reading abb 1 44 which likely denotes 1944 manufacture by an unknown maker. There is heavy oxidation under the new paint, and there appears to have been a fiberglass repair in the shell as seen on the underside. The mine retains part of the original fuze.
The mine comes in a Tellermine transit chest measuring 14 ¼ x 14 ¼ x 4 ¾”, which appears to be original with markings including jdz / 43 denoting 1943 manufacture by an unknown maker. There is some cracking in the wood as shown, and the mine is meant to be inserted upside down.
A very interesting example for display.
