Item Description
Original Item: One-of-a-kind-set. This is a lovely set of German WWII Personal Effects and Feldpost items, which we assume were brought home by a USGI after the war. This may explain why there are some Soviet items mixed in, but it is equally possible that they were acquired on the Eastern Front. There are even some "Feld Post" mailing boxes, some of which have address information on them, making this collection a real treasure trove with some great research potential. Please consult the high resolution (2000x2000) photographs for details on what items are included and their condition.
Notable Items in this collection:
● Clear glass bottle labeled AfriCola BRAUSELIMONADE MIT KRÄUTER UND FRUCHTGESCHMACK (Fizzy lemonade with herbs and fruit flavor). This looks to be a caffeinated drink sold during the North Africa Campaign.
● 0.5L Brown glass bottle labeled Eicol Cola LIMONADE, with a porcelain "mason jar" type plug on the top. We assume that it is another herbal infusion, and we are not quite clear on the reading of the maker.
● Empty Rusted container for EDELWEISS SARDINES. This looks to be a battlefield pickup.
● Feldpost Boxes of various sizes, some with address information on the exterior.
● Cleaning and water proof coloring powder for uniforms.
● Various washing sodas, personal care items, batteries, matches, and so forth.
● Advertising poster / pamphlet for the HJ National Youth organization.
● Copy of DIE FRONT Army newspaper, 1. April-Ausgabe 1944.
● Various Soviet small containers.
A really nice set with some great potential, definitely a good way to fill out a personal effects set.
