  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original German WWII Heer Army Officer dress brocade belt with aluminum buckle, intended for wear with the officer dress uniform on ceremonial and formal occasions. The belt remains in very good overall condition and retains its buckle, brocade body, two sliding loops, field gray wool backing, and leather length adjustment tab. The adjustment claw and matching double square loop from the opposite end are missing.

The buckle is of die struck aluminum alloy construction and features a closed wing Heer eagle centered on a pebbled field, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath tied at the bottom. The buckle is attached to the belt by an aluminum double square loop. The belt itself is woven from bright silver colored aluminum brocade and incorporates two horizontal green stripes as part of the pattern.

Two sliding vertical loops remain on the belt and carry the same silver and green woven pattern. One loop has an extended backing section designed to sit behind the leather adjustment tab and conceal the reverse of the adjustment hardware when worn.

The reverse of the belt is lined in Heer field gray wool. A leather length adjustment tab is still present and has a double row of seven holes, similar in arrangement to the adjustment system found on standard military belts.

The matching adjustment claw and double square loop that would engage this leather tab are no longer present. The belt should therefore be regarded as incomplete in its present configuration.

When fully extended, the belt measures approximately:

    45 1/2"

No maker markings were observed on the buckle, belt, or surviving hardware.

The silver brocade remains well preserved overall, with only limited areas where the metallic weave has begun to pull away. There are also some sections along the outer edges where material is missing, exposing portions of the central textile band beneath. The field gray wool backing shows some moth damage, with lighter mothing also present on the sliding loops. The leather adjustment tab shows staining consistent with past moisture exposure.

With its original aluminum Heer officer buckle, bright silver brocade construction, green woven stripes, surviving sliding loops, field gray wool backing, and leather adjustment tab, this remains an attractive Heer officer dress belt despite the missing adjustment hardware. The mothing, edge losses, isolated brocade separation, stained leather tab, and absence of the adjustment claw and opposite double square loop are all fully disclosed. It would display especially well in a Heer officer dress uniform, ceremonial accoutrement, brocade belt, or advanced German WWII uniform collection.
