Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice service used BeVo style machine embroidered Wehrmachtadler breast eagle from a German WWII Heer (Army) Enlisted Man's or NCO's Wool Tunic. The eagle is the 1940 pattern, with light green background and gray thread embroidered eagle. These were worn on the breast of the uniform tunic, just above and sometimes partly on the pocket.
This example was cut off a uniform, complete with some surrounding fabric, most likely removed using a knife, as the cuts are not straight. The insignia is about 3 7/8" x 1 5/8", with the uniform section measuring approximately 4 1/4" x 2 1/2". The fabric is the correct feldgrau square weave used used on later war tunics, and it is attached with the correct stitching. There is definitely some wear to the exterior side, which has removed most of the fuzzy "nap" of the fabric, and it also shows staining and worn in dirt.
A very nice "salty" example of a German WWII "Cut Off" eagle, ready to display!
