  • Original Item: Only One Available. This an incredible excellent condition example of a WWII German Kriegsmarine Navy General Admiral Rank Command Flag, officially termed the Generaladmiralflagge in German. The flag is of wool construction, with a canvas header that has spring clips on both ends. The design features an Admiral's cross with two crossed swords in yellow and brown in the lower hoist.

These flags were standard equipment on the larger capital ships, and were hoisted whenever a Generaladmiral was on board. This rank, equivalent of the U.S. Navy's Admiral, was considered a "flag officer", which was any Navy officer of high enough rank to fly a flag from the location of their command. This also meant that the ships would need to keep a full set on board for ranks of Konteradmiral (Counter Admiral) upwards, to match the rank.
