Original German Inter War Era 3 ⅜” x 5 ⅜” Post Card of Kaiser Wilhelm II With His Signature

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This postcard featuring Kaiser Wilhelm II is an excellent example of the period between the end of World War I and the start of World War II. We believe that it was taken between 1930 and just before his death in 1941, based on the style and quality of the printing. It is a sepia tone photograph of the Kaiser, with a signature at the bottom in black felt pen that has since faded to purple. The signature is from when he was older in age, so there are some irregularities in the style of the signature itself.

After comparing this example to dozens of others, we can confirm that it is in fact the Kaiser's signature, making it a valuable item. The postcard is in excellent condition, with only slight signs of wear around the edges.

Wilhelm II was the last German Emperor and King of Prussia, ruling from 1888 until his abdication in 1918. This marked the end of the German Empire and the House of Hohenzollern's reign of 300 years in Prussia and 500 years in Brandenburg. Despite his controversial reign, the Kaiser remains an important figure in German history, and this postcard is a rare and valuable artifact of his life and legacy.

A lovely example ready for further research and display.
