  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an extraordinarily scarce medal bar to a Cuban sailor or Merchant Marine who served during the Cuban Revolution Era through World War II. The medals are held on a gilt medal bar with six medals total.

    The medals include:
    - Cuban Order of Naval Merit, III Class. This Order was primarily conferred by the Cuban Government in recognition of special naval merit. When the Order was awarded to recognize other services the colour of the cross' enamel and ribbon change. When the Order is awarded to recognize Naval Merit, the cross and the ribbon are Dark Blue. When the Order is awarded to recognize Bravery in Combat, the cross and the ribbon are Purple. When the Order is awarded to recognize Humanitarian Acts, the cross and the ribbon are Half Red and Half White. When the Order is awarded to recognize Good Conduct, the cross and the ribbon are Blue. When the Order is awarded to recognize Continuous Service, the cross and the ribbon are Half Blue and Half White. When the Order is awarded to recognize Special Services, the cross and the ribbon are Green. When the Order is awarded to recognize Other Services, the cross and the ribbon are White.
    - Cuban National Reconciliation Medal with Silver Star. This is a circular silver medal with laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with a military and a civilian arm laterally, shaking hands, the radiant upper half of the Armed Forces Merit Medal above, circumscribed ‘4 SEPT de 1933’, a fasces on a laurel wreath below circumscribed ‘PATRIA ORDEN JUSTICIA’ (Country, Order, Justice); the reverse with a five-pointed star imposed on a rayed hexagon with concave sides, circumscribed ‘A LA PERPETUIDAD DEL 4 de SEPTIEMBRE’ (To the perpetuation of 4 September); on original ribbon in the colours of the ‘Flag of 4 September 1933’ with an eight-pointed silver star.
    - Unknown Cuban cross medal with a Fasces on one side and a moon on the other over 10 De Marxo de 1952. On March 10, 1952, General Fulgencio Batista y Zaldívar led a coup d'etat against the regime of President Carlos Prío Soccarás which resulted in the latter's deposition and the formation of a new government by General Batista, who became President of Cuba on April 4, 1952. This medal is likely commemorating that.
    - U.S. Merchant Marine WWII Victory Medal, a great example. The decoration is awarded to officers and men of the U.S. Merchant Marine who served aboard American-flagged merchant ships for at least 30 days between December 7, 1941, and September 2, 1945. This would indicate that the wearer served with American ships during the war.
    - Cuban Long Service Medal with four stars. This is a circular silver medal with laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with the head and shoulders of a female figure representative of Cuba wearing armour and a plumed helmet; the reverse with the arms of Cuba surmounted by a Phrygian bonnet bearing a five-pointed star within a wreath of oak and laurel, circumscribed ‘PATRIA HONOR DEBER (Country, Honour, Duty); Four stars indicates five citations, a great example.

This is an extremely scarce medal bar, ready for further research and display.
