Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice British WWII Royal Navy Petty Officer’s Visor Cap, usually referred to as a "Peaked" cap in the U.K. It features the summerweight white body, with the white top now a bit disconnected from the cap itself, as these were meant to be interchangeable. The wool topped leather visor is heavily worn with no oak leaves embroidered on, denoting a Petty Officer. The black mohair hat band features a great Kings Crown under a brass anchor inside a lovely wreath, the cap badge for Petty Officers.
The interior of the cap has a celluloid sweat protector, but no maker’s mark we can find. As mentioned, there is no lining in the cap and the white top to the hat is coming a bit disconnected, with a button at the back and crown stiffener in place. The faux leather chinstrap shows cracking and is held in by two blank buttons.
The leather sweatband is in good order with no serious damage or loss of stitching. A good Royal Navy Petty Officer’s visor, ready for further research and display.
