Original British 18th Century Iron Swivel Gun Cannon with Yoke and Tiller - As Seen on History Channel Pawn Stars

Item Description

This very cannon was featured and test fired on an episode of History Channel's Pawn Stars in May 2024. You can watch it on the episode below:

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a high quality 18th century circa 1760-1780 iron swivel gun with crown relief on top of first reinforce. Beneath the crown in relief are the remnants of letter that appear to be JUST but the name is incomplete. Cannon likely was recovered from he sea, but is in fine shape and was sound enough to be fired for History Channel.

Banded tapered tube measures 24” and about 26.5” including cascabel. Measures 8.5” wide at trunnions with a 12” yoke. Also included is the iron tiller that measures 4" in length. The tiller was a period produced accessory to aid in the maneuverability of the gun. Bore measures 2" making this quite a powerful little gun. Overall weight of the gun with yoke is approximately 60 Lbs.

This is a typical gun that would be found on many maritime vessels in the late 18th century and early 19th century to protect cargo against pirates or other risks. Maritime insurers of the era such as Lloyds Bank of London required merchant vessels to be armed with such a cannon. This is a fine cannon that displays well on its original swivel yoke that is not often retained. Also included is an un-associated 3 foot tall antique wooden church candle holder that makes the gun present exceptionally well, which weighs approximately 24 lbs.
